What is the real meaning of the Swiss pavilion at EXPO?

Posted by admin

Switzerland was the first country to join Expo Milano 2015, and among the first to complete construction of its pavilion inside the Exhibition Site.
Already in January 2015 the work was finished and an enthusiastic opening of the space took place.

With its unique take on the theme of Expo Milano 2015 Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life, Switzerland reflects on the scarcity of food resources in the world and shows the other side of abundance. Its pavilion is made up of four towers, full of local food products which the visitor can take away. But there is a limit to the resources available… to exceed that limit is to deprive other visitors of the same opportunities.

Its meaning is clear and strong and fully reflects the image that Switzerland wanted to give during this exhibition: a country where responsibility and solidarity play a key role.

A country where there is plenty of food and resources but there is also the knowledge that the act of the individual can involve a multitude of people who have been less fortunate: positively and negatively.
